Goodreads Synopsis:

She has just two weeks. Two weeks to teach him how to fall in love – with his own life.

Adam Basil and Christine Rose are thrown together late one night, when Christine is crossing the Halfpenny Bridge in Dublin. Adam is there, poised, threatening to jump. Adam is desperate – but Christine makes a crazy deal with him. His 35th birthday is looming and she bets him she can show him that life is worth living before then.

Despite her determination, Christine knows what a dangerous promise she’s made. Against the ticking of the clock, the two of them embark on wild escapades, grand romantic gestures and some unlikely late-night outings. Slowly, Christine thinks Adam is starting to fall back in love with his life.

But has she done enough to change his mind for good? And is that all that’s starting to happen?

My Review:

Oh how I love my Cecelia Ahern, she was one of the first authors that I put on my automatic buy list just because her name is attached to it. Her books have always given me a great feeling and she always knows how to work her readers emotions. Every one of Cecelia Ahern's books has touched me and they are ones that I love to go back to over and over again. I can say that I am excited to add this one to the list as well (though it may not be one of her best).

When Christine meets Adam he is preparing to jump off the bridge she is walking along, in a desperate attempt to do something, Christine talks him down and makes a deal that she will make him see that despite all the issues life is worth living. The only problem is, she only has a week to do it... , What I truly loved about this book is that both of the characters are damaged, Christine is trying so desperately to help Adam despite having her own issues.

There are a lot of missteps, and Christine is trying to deal with her issues of leaving her husband and the fallout from that. What I found is that Adam helps Christine in a lot of ways, while she tries to help him, she helps herself a lot and I believe she starts to see some of her own short-comings. This is a book of adventures but also going along with the hurdles that life throws at you and making things work out for yourself. The chemistry between Christine and Adam is something that jumps out of the pages, they spend just about every waking minute with one another and they start a new adventure together.

These characters felt like real people, and you could really connect with them. Neither of them are perfect and they both feel like their lives are falling apart because of mistakes, and because they can't seem to fight everything. This is such an adorable book, and everything about it reminds me of why Cecelia Ahern is the author I will continually go back to during bad times, I know her stories will always brighten my day. How to Fall in Love is definitely the type of book that will brighten your day, Christine and Adam's story show readers what things we can do to help us enjoy life. It is the story of stopping to smell the roses and that no matter what happens we need to enjoy the good things that we have. It is too easy to take things for granted and we need to stop and appreciate those things. These two definitely learn a lesson from one another on how to love life and love the people around them.
