My Review
I just finished reading The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami (my first one of his to prepare for 1Q84). I have to say I absolutely loved this book, it’s different then anything I’ve read before. Murakami has a special way of writing that I found I was enthralled with everything that happened to Toru.

Ever felt like you can’t tell the difference between a dream and reality. This book definitely makes you think about that more. After awhile everything just continues to merge together so much that I couldn't figure out where I was. There are so many characters throughout but Murakami connects them all so well.

It is not often I find myself wanting to reread a book the moment I have finished it, but this was one of those books. If I didn't have a thousand other books to read I would have closed the book, turned it over and opened it again. This is one of those books that the more times you read it the more information you will find you missed that can connect story lines for you. I found myself getting lost in the book and picturing myself there.

Murakami goes into such great detail when describing events that I found myself picturing it happening right in front of me (and some scenes can be quite disturbing). He really knows how to catch a reader’s attention and keep them guessing throughout the story. There were so many great quotes throughout the novel as well. I found myself thinking about my own life while reading this story, and I don't often find a novel that makes me think about things like that.

I can't wait to explore his other books now that I have finally read him. It's great when a book comes along that makes me want to collect all the authors other works!

Other books by Haruki Murakami

Introduction

Hi all!

So I've decided to start this blog to help pass the time when I'm not working. I've met a lot of people over the past little while who have told me how much fun it is, and also I find it a great way to talk to more people who love books (I get made fun of by my roommates that I have an addiction, thought this would be a way to put that addiction to use).

Please bear with me as I figure out how to get everything up and running. And I hope this works out well for me and I enjoy it as much as I think I will.

I really hope that this blog just helps me read more than I do now (I read quite a lot as is but there are just so many books that I don't read because I feel I don't have the time). So hopefully this blog helps me in that aspect as well.

Look forward to blogging with everyone!
